• The Company

    Chemikalien Seetransport, Hamburg (Germany)

Chemikalien Seetransport GmbH is committed to the management and operation of state-of-the-art, purpose-built sea-going vessels with over 40 years of experience in the shipping sector. The strategic focus on tanker shipping with a fleet of about 40 vessels makes Reederei Chemikalien Seetransport a part of the international shipping industry’s most dynamic sector.

    The Project

The business processes are progressively optimized by Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) as ERP system and ELO as document management system.

The digital invoice approvalis realized through defined workflows and is deeply integrated into both systems (ERP and DMS). This leads to a significant simplification. Now employees can view all details and carry out the invoice approval even remotely at any time.

The seamless integration of the international locations Cyprus and Singapore into the global solution enables the employees worldwide not only to harmonize the workflows, but also to work together on the same processes. Now the management can easily decide to shift responsibilities and activities between the locations and departments worldwide.

Chemikalien Seetransport was successfully going live with a completely redesigned solution in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013. The customization was reduced by 80% compared to the former solution, and this despite the complexity of the project: locations in several countries, 120 operational companies, connection to more than 30 vessels, various other interfaces and supplemental modules. Chemikalien Seetransport is more than well prepared for future changes in their lines of business and also for possible expansion.
